1993: Terrorists linked to bin Laden bomb the World Trade Center in New York City, killing 6 people.

1993: Bin Laden takes credit for destroying U.S. helicopters in Somalia.

1996: A car bomb in Saudi Arabia shatters an apartment complex housing U.S. servicemen, killing at least 19.

1998: U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, are bombed, killing at least 301 people.

2000: Suicide boat attacks USS Cole, stationed in Aden, Yemen, killing 17 American servicemen.
