passenger jet crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center. About
20 minutes later a second plane crashes into the south tower.

• American Airlines Flight 11, from Boston to Los Angeles, with
81 passengers, nine flight attendants and two pilots.
• United Airlines Flight 175, from Boston to Los Angeles, with
56 passengers, two pilots and seven flight attendants.
