Tips
If the ghost image doesn't update,
first try these options:
AOL users AOL browsers won't allow an auto-refresh on the
page. To overcome this problem, AOL users may:
- Login to AOL as usual
- Minimize the AOL browser (Don't close it)
- Open a non-AOL browser - Netscape or Internet Explorer
- Follow the tips below for your chosen browser
- Return to the ghost page using the new browser
I.E. Tips: To make sure that
I.E. looks for a new image each time you visit the site:
- Select "Tools" in the browser top menubar
- Go to "Internet Options"
- Under the header "Temporary Internet Files" hit "Settings"
- Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" select "Every visit
to the page"
- Hit "OK" - and "OK" again to close the options box.
- You may need to close and restart your browser before the changes
are set.
Netscape Tips: To make sure that Netscape
looks for a new image each time you visit the site:
- Select "Edit" in the browser top menubar
- Go to "Preferences"
- Under the "Catagory" list click on the + sign next to "Advanced"
- In the dropbox that opens under "Advanced" choose "Cache"
- Choose to compare cached document to document on server "Every Time"
- Hit "OK"
- You may need to close and restart your browser before the changes
are set.
